Traveling Exhibit of Legionary Armor
I recently saw a video about the Traveling Exhibit of Legionary Armor. This exhibit was created and is run by a man named Silvano Mattesini. He is a historian and an architect and finds many of the pieces for his exhibit himself. Some of his pieces include Roman soldier armors and gladiator armors. He has found items created from both bronze and iron. Unfortunately the iron pieces do not hold up as well as the bronze pieces. He cleans and restores all pieces that he finds.
This seems like it could be an amazing job to have. Anybody with a passion for history and restoration would love to have this type of job. He or she would also need to have training to find and restore these fantastic historical pieces. Capital would also be needed so that digging and renovation equipment could be purchased.
The daily operation of the traveling exhibit could be funded by charging visitors for each viewing. Advertising could be done through Facebook and other online medias. A web site could be used to let everyone know the current location of the ever mobile exhibit.
Although it would be very fun to do a job like this, it seems like it would be much easier to get some Roman armor replicas to put on display. You’ll find that you don’t have to spend that much money to get a nice replica. In fact many people have large displays within their own houses. They devote entire rooms to displaying medieval items such as weapons, armors, and even shields.
These can be displayed using display cases, shelves, and even full size models. Using all 3 methods is a great way to make a visually appealing display. You’ll find some fantastic looking armors at http://www.historicalclothingrealm.com.
The widest variety of armors can be found in Internet stores. It will also save you money and time since you won’t have to go anywhere to get your display pieces. Why not look into buying some historical pieces to display in your own house?
With a few years of collecting you could have a large collection to be proud of. If the collection gets big enough you might want to make your own traveling exhibit. People love looking at large and beautiful collections and you’ll get many admirers. Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure you’ll agree that Roman armor is for everybody.
