Yoda And His Wisdom

Yoda is one of the most popular movie characters. In fact, he is ranked as the 25th greatest movie character of all time by Empire Magazine. He is so popular, many people are buying “Yoda” merchandise and other things; like a Yoda action figure, Toddler Yoda Costume, Yoda shirts, Yoda plushies, and more. Some people like Yoda so much that some parents that like him dress their little ones with a Toddler Yoda Costume so the toddler can be their little Yoda.

In this article, we are not going to discuss the popularity of the Jedi Yoda. Sure, he is popular because he is a very powerful Jedi that defeated many Sith lords and trained many Padawans that later became great Jedis. But there is another thing that makes him popular, which is his wisdom. Because of his old age, Yoda is very wise. His quotes are very meaningful and inspirational, although at first they may not make any sense.

There are many meaningful Yoda saying out there, but listed here are 3 of his many sayings that can be applied to our daily lives.

No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.
This famous saying of Yoda is probably the most well-known quote of his, This line means that a person should only do or not do a thing. There is no “in between” or trying. When you are indecisive, people may be hurt when they are expecting something from you but you did not do it. If you really can’t do it, just say no. Never try, just do.

Luke: I can’t believe it.
Yoda: That is why you fail.
This short part of a conversation of Yoda and Luke is very meaningful. Rather than “seeing before believing”, you should “believe before seeing”. This can be faith, like faith in God, other persons, and many more. However, this can also be applied to things other than faith, like success for example. If you cannot believe that you will succeed, then you will likely fail. Believe at something, then make it happen. Do not wait for it to happen before believing.

But when the day comes that even old Yoda does not learn something from his students-then truly, he shall be a teacher no more.
Yes, you may be smart, but there are still others that is smarter than you. And don’t think that because you are smart, you cannot learn something from anybody else. A Student will learn from his master, and the master may learn something from his teacher. We are always learning, sometimes from unexpected sources. We stop learning when we are dead and they close our coffin.
