Remove Facial Hair: An Explaination Of Methods

Getting rid of uninvited hair can be a pain. Shaving and waxing, or other common forms of removing hair can become tedious chores that take way too much time. In addition, in order to retain control of the uninvited hair you have to take action every other day. Fortunately, there are treatments that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration as sound ways of permanent hair reduction.

Electrolysis is the first method. In electrolysis needles are inserted into each unwanted hair follicle and zapped with a boost of energy which kills the hair follicle and leaves it unable to produce more hair. This procedure may take a quite awhile since there are so many hair follicles that need to be treated. Additionally, while the needles should not hurt, the stress of having them repeatedly inserted into your skin may be overwhelming.

The second method is laser hair removal. A powerful beam of light, or a laser, if used to kill hair follicles in this method. This procedure takes a smaller amount of time since a laser can cover a section of hair follicles instead of only killing a single one each time. Yet, there is a risk of mild scarring or burning.

Neither method offers complete hair removal in a single treatment. Additional treatments will be required to kill any hairs that remain either because they were missed or were not in the appropriate growth stage to be successful.

While these treatments may appear to be costly, remember, these treatments are permanent. Think of it as a one time expense, and at the same time, temporary hair removal methods require a purchase each week, which can ultimately add up to more than the price of the permanent removal. Costs should also be determined with consideration of your time. If you are always busy your time is very important and it might be more beneficial to you to cut out all those hours you spend plucking, waxing and shaving each week.

Whatever method you end up choosing to remove facial hair, just make sure you research your options further before making any haste decisions.
